Appointments are generally 50 minutes.
The expectation for new clients is to meet weekly at least until there is a good flow going (getting to know each other, learning a lot about the client, setting goals and making significant progress). Many clients continue weekly while others discuss a plan after some time to start meeting every other week. Dr. Lara does also meet with clients more than once per week in specific circumstances.

Dr. Lara can take insurance for both individual therapy and gender affirming letter evaluations.

-
Please know that a full clinical hour is reserved specifically for you.
You are financially responsible for missed appointments and appointments that are not canceled with at least 4 days notice.
Some clients are not able to commit with this much notice so there are alternative ways of scheduling, such as using Dr. Lara's Calendly up until the day of the appointment when you are certain that you will be available.
Please note that this cancellation policy applies to all clients, including those with insurance. While Dr. Lara is unable to bill your insurance provider for missed sessions, she is permitted to bill you directly for missed sessions.
This fee is waived on an individual basis when a life emergency occurs.
-
Many clients are not able to keep the same weekly time and need to change the day/time of their appointment every week. Others prefer to keep the same time every week. Dr. Lara is able to accommodate for all of these different needs.
-
Dr. Lara is happy to answer all of them! You are welcome to email her and/or schedule a free consultation using her Calendly (calendly.com/drlaradicarlo).

Under new law (2022), healthcare providers are required to provide an estimate of the cost of one (1) year of services to patients who either do not have insurance or who are not using insurance.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services and may request one at any time during the course of your care.
If you receive an invoice that is at least $400 greater than is outlined in your Good Faith Estimate, you are permitted to dispute the invoice.
